- Recordings are saved on your device first. Nothing is sent until you turn on AI or choose to get a transcript.
- When you do, audio goes to our speech provider and text to our AI provider. Neither uses it to train their models.
- We don't sell your data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
- You can export or delete any session, Memory or your whole account. Deleting removes every copy.
- Questions: [email protected].
Who we are
Pamo is made by Sparse Technologies Limited ("we", "us"). We decide how your information is used for Pamo, so we are the data controller. Contact us at [email protected].
This policy covers the Pamo apps for Android (and, when released, Mac, Windows and the web) and this website.
What we collect
| What | Examples | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Your sessions | Audio recordings, markers, notes, slide photos, titles, Memories | On your device. In our cloud only for features you use (transcripts, sync) |
| What Pamo makes | Transcripts, speaker labels, recaps, reports, recall cards, Ask questions and answers | On your device and in our cloud for your account |
| Account details | Email address; name and profile ID if you sign in with Google; an account ID if you use Pamo without signing in | Our cloud |
| Devices | Device type, operating system and app version, used for sync and support | Our cloud |
| Credits and purchases | Credit balance and activity; for purchases, the order number, product, date and country from Google Play. We never see your card details. | Our cloud |
| Messages to us | Emails to support, privacy or security | Our email provider |
| Calendar (optional) | The title of the event happening when you start recording, to suggest a name | Read on your device only. Never sent to us. |
We don't collect your location, contacts or advertising IDs. We don't use your recordings for anything other than giving you Pamo.
How we use it
- To run Pamo for you: saving, syncing, transcribing, writing recaps and reports, answering your questions.
- To charge fairly: tracking credits, checking purchases with Google, and refunding credits when a job fails.
- To keep Pamo safe and working: preventing abuse, fixing problems and keeping logs that don't include what was said.
- To talk to you: sign-in emails, replies to your messages and important notices about your account. We don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
AI processing
AI features are off until you turn them on. When they're on:
- Speech to text: your audio is sent to Deepgram to make the transcript and, if you turn them on, live captions. We ask Deepgram not to use it to improve their models, and they keep it only as long as needed to process it.
- Recaps, reports, Ask and name suggestions: transcript text, your notes and markers are sent to OpenAI. OpenAI doesn't use data sent through its API to train its models, and may keep it for up to 30 days to check for abuse, unless the law requires longer.
- Live captions are a preview and aren't saved.
- AI can be wrong. Pamo shows where each line came from so you can check it.
You can turn AI off at any time in Settings › AI. Recordings made while it's off stay on your device unless you send them yourself.
Legal bases
Where data protection laws, such as the EU and UK GDPR, require a legal basis, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide the features you use.
- Consent: for AI processing, live captions and calendar suggestions. You can withdraw it any time in Settings.
- Legitimate interests: to keep Pamo secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- Legal obligation: to keep purchase records required by tax law.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run Pamo, under contracts that limit what they can do with it. They're listed on our subprocessors page. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people from harm, or as part of a sale or merger, in which case this policy keeps applying.
We never sell your information and we don't show ads.
When you share a report, clip or export, it goes to whoever you send it to. Pamo asks before sharing and names who is speaking in a clip.
International transfers
Our database is hosted in the United Kingdom (London). Some providers, including Deepgram and OpenAI, process data in the United States. Where data leaves your country, we use safeguards the law recognises, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Sessions and everything made from them: until you delete them or your account.
- Exports and shared clips: deleted from the app's cache after 24 hours, or sooner when you delete the session.
- Deleted accounts: removed straight away from our live systems, and from our backups within 30 days.
- Purchase records: 6 years, with nothing that identifies you (order number, product, date and country), for tax rules.
- Logs: up to 30 days, without what was said.
Your rights
You can:
- See and export your sessions and reports in the app.
- Correct titles, notes, speaker names and account details.
- Delete any session, Memory or your whole account (Settings › Account), or use this page.
- Withdraw consent by turning off AI, live captions or calendar suggestions.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.
- Complain to a data protection authority, in the country where you live or work.
Security
Connections are encrypted, and stored data is encrypted by our providers. Only you can reach your sessions; our systems check this on every request. Read more on our security page.
People you record
When you record a session, other people's voices and words are in it. You're responsible for having the right to record them. Please read Recording responsibly. If someone asks to be removed from a recording you made, you can trim or delete it in the app.
If you're someone who was recorded by a Pamo user, contact them first. You can also write to us and we'll help where we can.
Children
Pamo isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
